On 22-23 May 2023, ENR’s Energy and Mineral Governance Program (EMGP) hosted a Clean EDGE Asia regional workshop in Dhaka, Bangladesh to discuss regional cooperation in South Asia’s energy transition. The workshop convened 70 attendees, including Bangladeshi officials, U.S. and E.U. diplomats and stakeholders, academic experts, and international corporations and investors. Featured speakers included Ambassador Haas, Energy Advisor to the Prime Minister Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Bangladeshi Foreign Secretary Momen, MP Waseqa Ayesha Khan, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary Chowdhury. Panel discussions covered land use challenges, local capacity, and human capital development to ensure a just and sustainable energy transition and opportunities for cooperation between South Asian countries to achieve climate and clean energy goals.
