The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Energy Resources (ENR), in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), hosted a delegation from Australia in Washington on April 25-27 for the fifth bilateral Energy Security Dialogue. Deputy Secretary Simon Duggan from the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water led Australia’s delegation, which included representatives from Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Embassy of Australia in Washington. ENR Assistant Secretary Geoffrey Pyatt and DOE Assistant Secretary Andrew Light led the U.S. delegation.

The two parties reaffirmed their commitment to cooperate on clean energy supply chains, critical minerals, energy security challenges, and clean energy technologies, including hydrogen. Australia will host the next dialogue in 2024.
