Release: The Department of State released the 2023 Investment Climate Statements today. The reports help U.S. companies make informed business decisions by providing up-to-date information on the investment climates of more than 165 countries and economies that are current or potential markets for U.S. companies.


Secretary Blinken to Deliver Remarks at the UN Security Council

News Release: Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will chair and deliver remarks at a UN Security Council open debate on famine and conflict-induced global food insecurity at 10:00 a.m. EDT Thursday, Aug. 3, from UN Headquarters in New York City. The Secretary will also have a meeting with United States Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield while he is in New York.

New PEPFAR Initiative: Safe Births, Healthy Babies

Release: In 2024, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) intends to, subject to availability of appropriated funds and completion of congressional notification procedures, launch the Safe Births, Healthy Babies Initiative - a two-year $40 million PEPFAR effort to accelerate progress to eliminate mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) in PEPFAR supported high HIV burden countries.

Release: The United States commends the Government of Kenya for responding to Haiti’s call and for considering to serve as the lead nation for a multinational force in Haiti to assist in addressing insecurity caused by gang violence. The United States looks forward to working with partners of Haiti to advance this process successfully, including through a UN Security Council Resolution authorizing a multinational force to Haiti.
