Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will chair and deliver remarks at a UN Security Council open debate on famine and conflict-induced global food insecurity at 10:00 a.m. EDT Thursday, Aug. 3, from UN Headquarters in New York City. The Secretary will also have a meeting with United States Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield while he is in New York.

At the Rockefeller Foundation, the Secretary will lead a roundtable discussion on food security and the Vision for Adapted Crops and Soils alongside agricultural leaders from the public and private sectors.

UN-accredited members of the press are invited to cover the open debate in person from the UN Security Council press boxes. Space is on a first-come, first-serve basis. All non-UN accredited press and interested members of the public can view the open debate live via UN WebTV, the State Department homepage, and the Department YouTube channel. The roundtable discussion on food security will be pooled press coverage at the top.
