The following press release was published by the House Committee on Foreign Affairs on Sept. 8. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, D.C. - Last week, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul requested transcribed interviews of key State Department officials involved in the planning and execution of the Biden administration’s deadly and chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal. Chairman McCaul released the following statement regarding the department’s response.

“The State Department has indicated that all requested department officials are willing to cooperate with the committee’s request, but has yet to schedule any of the interviews. I expect these interviews be scheduled without further delay. These are crucial witnesses for the committee’s investigation, and I will leave no stone unturned in getting answers for our Gold Star families, veterans, and the American people."
