Austin, TX - House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul has announced the full committee will hold a roundtable discussion with some of the family members of the U.S. service members killed in the terrorist attack at the Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKIA)’s Abbey Gate on Aug. 26, 2021. The attack happened during the emergency evacuation from Afghanistan following the Taliban seizing control of the country on Aug. 15, 2021. Thirteen U.S. service members were killed and 45 more were wounded in the attack, making it the deadliest day for U.S. service members in Afghanistan since 2011.
