Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Bonnie D. Jenkins will travel to Fairbanks and Anchorage, Alaska, from July 31 - August 4.

While in Fairbanks, the Under Secretary will visit the University of Alaska’s Wilson Alaska Technical Center and the Geophysical Institute to discuss verification technology in support of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty. The Under Secretary will also travel to Fort Greely’s Ground-based Midcourse Defense system operated by the 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska Army National Guard.

While in Anchorage, the Under Secretary will meet with leadership and experts at the Department of Defense’s Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Studies and the Alaskan North American Aerospace Defense Command Region headquarters at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
