Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs Michele Sison will travel to Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, Tunisia, and Türkiye July 11-28 for meetings with counterparts and UN officials to reinforce the U.S. commitment to collaborating on common global challenges.

Assistant Secretary Sison will travel to Nairobi, Kenya, July 13-15, Dodoma, Tanzania, July 16-17, and Abuja, Nigeria, July 18-19. The Assistant Secretary will then travel to Pretoria, South Africa, July 20-21, Cairo, Egypt, July 22-24, Tunis, Tunisia, July 25-26, and Ankara, Türkiye, July 27-28.

Throughout her travel, the Assistant Secretary will discuss areas of shared multilateral interest, including reforming the UN, advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, improving the safety and security of peacekeepers, and tackling transnational challenges, including food insecurity, climate change, and global health. Assistant Secretary Sison will also advocate for the U.S. candidate for the International Court of Justice, Sarah Cleveland.
