House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul announced the full committee will hold a roundtable discussion with leading Cuban activists on the Cuban regime’s ongoing acts of repression and torture against brave Cuban protestors on Monday, July 10th. The discussion will be followed by a press conference where the representatives will be joined by Cuban dissidents who were forcibly exiled following their involvement with the July 11, 2021 protest movement.

What: Roundtable – Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX), Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere Chairwoman Maria Salazar (R-FL), Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL), Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL), Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), and Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) will hear from Cuban Activists Rosa Maria Paya and Orlando Gutiérrez-Boronat. The panelists will highlight the dire situation of Cuban political prisoners, such as music artist Maykel Osorbo, and activist José Daniel Ferrer, as well numerous minors and religious leaders.
