Special Representative Syed Promotes Partnerships with U.S. Businesses in Suriname and Brazil

From May 30 to June 5, Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs Dilawar Syed is visiting Paramaribo, Suriname, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.  In Paramaribo, Special Representative Syed will meet with business leaders and government officials to discuss the value of a welcoming business environment and highlight the opportunities for greater U.S. private sector investment in growing sectors such as mining, marine shipping, and downstream wood manufacturing.

In Sao Paulo, Special Representative Syed will address the Unreasonable Goals  Retreat with entrepreneurs from around the world in support of achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.  He will also meet with Brazilian government officials, entrepreneurs, and the business community to discuss the potential for expansion of the U.S.-Brazil commercial partnership in the communications and technology sector.
