The following press release was published by the Matthew Miller, Department Spokesperson on June 18. It is reproduced in full below.

The United States welcomes the launch of Hajj flights between Sana’a and Jeddah for Yemeni pilgrims. This positive step is the latest in a series of efforts that have brought relief to Yemenis since the UN-sponsored truce began 15 months ago, and we thank Saudi Arabia for enabling the flights. The United States is committed to helping bring an end to the Yemen conflict as soon as possible. While we are heartened by the progress over the last 15 months, we know that more is needed to achieve a durable ceasefire and the start of Yemeni-Yemeni talks. We will continue our intensive diplomatic efforts under U.S. Special Envoy Tim Lenderking to support the launch of a comprehensive peace process that enables Yemenis to chart a brighter future for their country.
