Special Advisor on International Disability Rights Sara Minkara will travel to New York City June 14, where she will observe the Conference of States Parties (COSP) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Special Advisor Minkara will provide an intervention that Ambassador Lisa Carty, Representative of the United States of America to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and Alternate Representative of the United States to the Sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations, will read on her behalf at a side event hosted by the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights and the International Disability Alliance.

Special Advisor Minkara will also meet with civil society and government officials to advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities, share technical expertise and emphasize President Biden’s Executive Order on Increasing Access to High Quality Care and Supporting Caregivers, and the value that persons with disabilities bring to all sectors of society when fully included.
