On May 24, Administrator Samantha Power met with Harjit Sajjan, Canada’s Minister for International Development. The Administrator and the Minister discussed continued support for the humanitarian response to meet the urgent needs resulting from conflict and attacks on civilians in Sudan. 

Administrator Power shared details about her recent visit to Eastern Chad, where she met with Sudanese refugees who recently crossed the border and heard harrowing stories of the violence they had fled. The two discussed the impact the conflict in Sudan is having on people in neighboring Chad, who are hosting the incoming refugees, and the threat to regional stability caused by Sudan’s crisis.
