United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with United Kingdom Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Kemi Badenoch.
Ambassador Tai and Secretary of State Badenoch noted the positive developments during Prime Minister Sunak’s visit to Washington, D.C., including his meeting with President Biden and the announcement of negotiations related to a targeted critical minerals agreement.
Ambassador Tai also noted she was looking forward to a meeting later in the day with Secretary of State Badenoch and other trade ministers to cover shared priorities, including non-market policies and practices and economic coercion.
Ambassador Tai and Secretary of State Badenoch agreed to stay in close touch in the future and continue working to deepen the U.S.-UK trade relationship.
