Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, met today with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in Reykjavik, Iceland, on the margins of the Council of Europe Summit. They emphasized the importance of holding Russia accountable for its aggression in Ukraine, including through the Council of Europe’s establishment of a Register of Damage. The Ambassador and Prime Minister also discussed the critical role of the Black Sea Grain Initiative in stabilizing global markets and getting grain and food supplies to those in need. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield affirmed the U.S. commitment to stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.
