Readout of Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield’s Meeting with Republic of Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, met today with Republic of Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides in Reykjavik, Iceland, on the margins of the Council of Europe Summit. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield reiterated the U.S. commitment to deepening the bilateral relationship with the Republic of Cyprus. She also underscored the urgency for a comprehensive and durable settlement in Cyprus and expressed continued U.S. support for a Cypriot-led, UN-facilitated effort to reunify the island as a bizonal, bicommunal federation with political equality to benefit all Cypriots.
Lastly, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield and President Christodoulides discussed continued solidarity with Ukraine.
