Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, met today with Brazilian First Lady Rosangela “Janja” da Silva. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield applauded the First Lady’s work to promote diversity and inclusion in Brazil. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield and the First Lady discussed how, as the hemisphere’s two largest democracies, Brazil and the United States play an important role in promoting human rights in the region and around the world. They also highlighted our work together to combat discrimination and reduce inequality in both countries.
