As Congress considers reauthorizing Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), the State Department’s Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Research (INR), Brett Holmgren, will deliver remarks on the importance of Section 702 to empowering U.S. diplomacy and advancing American foreign policy interests around the world. Following his remarks, Assistant Secretary Holmgren will participate in a fireside chat on current threats and challenges facing the United States and INR’s role in helping the State Department navigate this environment.

The event will take place at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. EDT in Washington, D.C. Assistant Secretary Holmgren’s remarks will be open press and streamed live.  To participate (in-person or virtually), please register here.
