Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană today in Washington, D.C. Deputy Secretary Sherman and Deputy Secretary General Geoană discussed preparations for the July 11-12 NATO Summit in Vilnius and our efforts to sustain support for Ukraine. They welcomed Finland’s recent accession as NATO’s newest Ally and reiterated their belief that Sweden is ready to join the Alliance now.
