Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with Dan Jørgensen, Danish Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy, where the two discussed the U.S. and Denmark’s joint priorities in supporting Ukraine, including efforts around reconstruction, as well as ways to connect and strengthen private sector partners in support of global development and adaptation to the climate crisis.
The Administrator noted that there are several opportunities for USAID and Denmark to expand our development collaboration, including on digital transformation and digital democracy, countering transnational corruption, energy and climate finance, and food security investments in Africa. The Minister also formally announced Denmark’s support for the Donor Statement on Supporting Locally Led Development.
