Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will travel to Atlanta, Georgia, May 5-6, 2023. On May 5, Secretary Blinken will visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and meet with CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky. The visit will include a tour of CDC’s Emergency Operations Center and briefings on global health issues.

Secretary Blinken will also meet with and thank staff from the Atlanta Passport Agency and Diplomatic Security’s Resident Office in Atlanta.

On May 6, the Secretary will participate in a roundtable discussion with Historically Black Colleges and Universities presidents and executives of the Atlanta University Center Consortium, including Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Spelman College to discuss ways to continue to deepen our engagement on international education.

Secretary Blinken will then deliver the undergraduate commencement address at Georgia Institute of Technology.
