The Department of State, through the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, announced a State and Local Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Denver Office of the Medical Examiner in Denver, Colorado. This MOU will provide the framework for cooperation related to training, advising, and mentoring foreign criminal justice personnel and will support early synthetic drug detection, including fentanyl, and anti-crime efforts overseas.

Fentanyl and other illicit synthetic drugs are a critical threat to global health, public safety and security, and the United States is committed to working with international partners to confront this complex challenge.
