The United States welcomes the publication of the report of the High-Level Advisory Board on Effective Multilateralism, chaired by Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, the former president of Liberia, and Stefan Löfven, the former prime-minister of Sweden.

The report, a major component of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’s “Our Common Agenda” initiative, provides recommendations to strengthen the United Nations and the wider multilateral system’s ability to address pressing global challenges, from climate change and future pandemics, to preventing conflict, attaining the Sustainable Development Goals, and supporting a just digital transformation.

The United States looks forwards to reviewing the Advisory Board’s recommendations and to engaging in discussions at the United Nations on the recommendations.
