Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met today with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio. Secretary Blinken and Prime Minister Kishida reaffirmed the vital importance of the G7 and the ironclad U.S.-Japan Alliance in promoting peace, security, and prosperity. They discussed the upcoming G7 Leader’s Summit in Hiroshima and Japan’s leadership in the G7 to support economic security. Secretary Blinken congratulated Prime Minister Kishida on recent progress in Japan-ROK bilateral relations. He also thanked Prime Minister Kishida for Japan’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
