Washington, D.C.- House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul issued the following statement on news Finland has been accepted into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

“Congratulations to Finland on joining NATO today. With its impressive military capabilities and long history of cooperation with the alliance, Finland will be a significant security provider, not just a consumer. I urge Turkey and Hungary to also approve Sweden’s NATO membership before the Vilnius Leaders’ Summit in July."
